Local Attractions

You would not believe the things there are to see and do in this area. When you are here for a Mowbray Park Camp you may not have the time to get out and about (transport & logistics always an issue).
At Mowbray Park we can arange a day visit excursion, see the animals here, choose an activitity or two and have lunch (BYO or we can cater). We could take you to the Burragorang look out, this amazing vantage point looks out over the headwaters to the mighty Warragamba and the Lower Blue Mountains World Heritage Park.

Just 15 minutes from Mowbray Park is a wonderful native animal sanctuary. Run by volunteers this sanctuary allows you to walk amongst the animals (not the Dingo's though).

Another short trip from Mowbray Park is to The Oaks Heritage Centre. This is a wonderful education opportunity as it not only chronicles agricultural and mining history in the region but is set in a period landscape, well worth the visit. www.oaksheritagecentre.com.au

All kid's (and adults) like a steam train (thanks to Thomas). You would never see more in one place than at the Thirlmere Train Museum, largest in Australia. This is just 15 minutes from Mowbray Park as well. www.railheritagecentre.com.au

There are other things as well that would easily fill a day or two so just remember the Macarthur & Wollondilly area for an educational excursion.
